Gina Tomé
She is an education psychologist and a clinical and health psychologist, with advanced specialisation in psychotherapy and community psychology at the Portuguese Psychologists Association (OPP).
She has been an assistant professor at the European University of Lisbon since 2023. As a researcher, she has worked at the University of Lisbon Environmental Health Institute (ISAMB) and on the “Social Adventure” project.
She is a member of the “International Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children” (HBSC) network and the ”Cross-National Project on Positive Youth Development” (CN-PYD).
She is a coordinator at a number of institutions (ES’COOL project, Promoting Mental Health in Schools; the “Hand in Hand” (HAND:ET) project and the SuPERA project at the European University of Lisbon).
She has a Master’s degree in Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy and a PhD in Education Sciences from the University of Lisbon. She did a postdoc in Psychology at the School of Human Motricity, funded by the FCT.

She is an associate professor with aggregation at Universidade Lusófona and Director of the Psychology, Innovation and Knowledge Service (SPIC) at that university.
She is Lead Investigator for Portugal, coordinator of Zone A (Mediterranean Countries) and a member of the International Coordination Commission for the “Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children” study by the World Health Organisation.
She coordinates the Portuguese Laboratory of Healthy Work Environments and is the president of the “Social Adventure Association”. She is a member of and an expert on the Ministry of Health’s Ethics Commission for Clinical Research (CEIC)/INFARMED.
She is an aggregate professor of psychology and has a PhD in Psychology, a PhD in Management, a Master's degree in Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology.

Marina Carvalho
She is a full professor at Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes (ISMAT) and practices clinical and health psychology at the Algarve Local Health Unit in Portimão.
She has been an integrated researcher at the School of Medicine Environmental Health Institute, University of Lisbon since 2018 and has published several scientific articles in books and national and international journals. She is on the Portuguese team for the study on “Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children” (WHO) and at the School Observatory – Psychological Health and Wellbeing.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s degree in Health Psychology from ISPA. She got her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Minho in 2007.

Cátia Branquinho
She has a PhD and a postdoc in Education Sciences from the University of Lisbon and has been a visiting assistant professor at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa School of Human Sciences since 2023. She is an integrated researcher at the “Católica Research Centre for Psychological, Family and Social Wellbeing” (CRC-W) and is on the Social Adventure team. She is also an executive coordinator at the Observatory for Psychological Health and Wellbeing in Schools / Directorate-General for Education and Science Statistics (DGEEC).
She was executive coordinator on projects funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, such as «Dream Teen», «#GeraçõesComVoz» and «Learn to Fly».
Her research areas focus on positive development, psychological flexibility, social participation and the psychological health and wellbeing of children and teenagers, and she has written several publications related to these subjects.

Joana Gonçalves de Sá
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics (IST-UL) and a PhD in Systems Biology (ITQB-NOVA), having done her thesis at Harvard University in the USA.
She was principal investigator at the Gulbenkian Institute of Science and director of the Science for Development Postgraduate Programme, a PhD programme aimed at PALOP (Portuguese-speaking African countries).
She was a professor at Nova SBE and has been coordinating the multidisciplinary research group «Social Physics & Complexity» — SPAC at the Instrumentation and Experimental Particle Physics Laboratory since 2020.

She has published several non-fiction works, including «The Vaccine Race», a Book Prize nominee, and the Washinton Post’s Notable Nonfiction Book of 2017. It was also named as one of the best science books of 2017 by The Guardian.

Julianne Holt-Lunstad
She is Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Brigham Young University in the USA and an adjunct professor at Swinburne University of Technology in Australia. Her research focuses on social connections and their long-term effects on health, biological mechanisms and working on effective strategies to promote social connections. Her research has been instrumental in demonstrating that social isolation and loneliness are risk factors for early mortality.
She is the Director of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the US Coalition to End Social Isolation and Loneliness and a scientific advisor to multisectoral organisations on this issue.
