Graduated in Marine Biology from Lisbon Classic University, in 1986, with executive education at IMD (1995) and Harvard (1997), and Alumni Member of Stanford (2000). Executive President of Sociedade Francisco Manuel dos Santos B.V., the main shareholder of Jerónimo Martins, SGPS, S.A., since its establishment in 2012. Member of the Board of Directors of Jerónimo Martins SGPS, S.A. from 1995 to 2001 and from 2004 to 2015. He is a Non-Executive Director of the Company since April 2019. Chairman of Unilever Fima, Lda., Gallo Worldwide, Lda., JMDB Representação e Distribuição de Marcas Lda. and miMed, Cuidados de Saúde S.A. Chairman of Movendo Capital B.V., since 2017. Since May 2020, he is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos, of which he was a Board Member from 2009 to 2018. Since September 2015, he is the Chairman of Oceanário de Lisboa, S.A., and, since December 2016, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of the Oceano Azul Foundation.

D. Manuel Clemente
D. Manuel Clemente was born in S. Pedro e S. Tiago, Torres Vedras, in 1948. He was nominated Bishop of Porto in 2007. He graduated in History and entered the Olivais Seminary in 1973. In 1979, he graduated in Theology from Universidade Católica Portuguesa and was ordained in the same year. In 1992, he completed a PhD in Historical Theology. Since 1975, he has taught History of the Church at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. He has occupied the following positions and ecclesiastical offices: Coadjutor Bishop of the parishes Torres Vedras and Runa in 1980; Vice-Chancellor of the Olivais Seminary from 1989 to 1997; Chancellor of the same Seminary since 1997; Director of the Religious History Study Centre of Universidade Católica Portuguesa; nominated Titulary Bishop of Pinhel and Auxiliary Bishop of the Patriarch of Lisbon on 6th November, 1999; Episcopal ordination in 2000; Auxiliary Bishop of Lisbon; President of the EpiscopalCommission of Culture, Cultural Assets and Social Communications, elected in 2005. He is the author of the following works: Portugal e os Portugueses (Lisbon: Assírio e Alvim, 2008); Igreja e Sociedade Portuguesa do Liberalismo à República (Lisbon: Grifo, 2002); A Igreja no Tempo (Lisbon: Grifo, 2000); A Igreja no Tempo. História Breve da Igreja Católica (Lisbon, 1978).

Psychiatrist for children and teenagers. He has a Bachelor’s degree from the Nova School of Medical Sciences. He did his general internship at São Francisco Xavier Hospital and the specialist internship in the Department of Child Psychiatry of Dona Estefania Hospital in Lisbon. He currently has a private practice and also does clinical work at GPS – Specialised Home for Children and Young People –and at ART – Therapeutic Response Association – in Castro Verde.

He was born in Olhão. He has a PhD in Economics from Harvard University and he received the Young Economist Award from the European Economic Association in 2001 and the Latin Union Scientific Merit Award in 2006. He is deputy director of the Economic Studies department in Banco de Portugal. His research area is the labour economy, a subject he has published articles on in several international scientific journals. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and he is on the Roll of Honour at ISEG-UTL, as well as a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the same university. He was on the Committee on the White Paper on Labour Relations in 2007. He teaches at ISEG-UTL and ISEGI-UNL.

The director general and member of the Foundation's Executive Committee and Board of Directors, Helena Bento, has a degree in Business Management. Accumulates positions as CEO of JMDB Representation and Brand Distribution, which she holds since February 2017. She directed the International area of Gallo Worldwide from 2009 to 2017 where led teams in Brazil and China and was responsible for the international expansion of the Gallo brand in America, Asia and Africa. She started her professional career at Unilever Fima in Portugal, having performed several functions in the Marketing area. Defines herself as a team builder, considering that leadership must be exercised with eyes open to the future, looking for new ideas and concepts. Born in Lisbon in 1975.
