Economist and vice president of the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority (ASF). He was formerly Coordinator of the Technical Budget Support Unit (UTAO). He has also served as Professor of Economics at the University of Minho, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Regional Development and Executive Board Member on the Portuguese Public Finance Council.

Full professor at the department of Sociology at the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE) and senior researcher at the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES ISCTE). Since 2009, he has also served as scientific coordinator at the Emigration Observatory.
His research interests include sociological theory, international migration and development sociology.
He served on the Management Board of the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) (2007–2010).
He is the author of several publications, including «Migration and Integration: Theory and Applications to Portuguese Society» (Celta, 2003) and the «Atlas of Portuguese Emigration» (Mundos Sociais, 2023).

William Eberle Professor of Economics at Stanford University. His research focuses on working from home and management practices. He previously worked at the UK Treasury and McKinsey & Company and the IFS. He has a BA from Cambridge, an MPhil from Oxford, and a PhD from University College London.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the recipient of the Guggenheim and Sloan Fellowships, the Frisch Medal and a National Science Foundation Career Award. He was elected to Bloomberg50 for his advice on working from home.
On the personal side he is English, living with his Scottish wife and American kids on Stanford campus, in a multi-accented English household.

Economist at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, where he is part of the Territorial Data Analysis and Modelling (TEDAM) team. His research interests include labour economics, fiscal policy, regional economics, technological innovation and ecological economics. He holds a master’s degree and a PhD in Economics from the International University of Andalusia (UNIA).
Before joining the JRC, he worked as a research assistant and adjunct professor at the University of Huelva. Furthermore, he was a visiting assistant professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, and a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Management Studies at IST (CEGIST).

Mark Finley
Nonresident fellow in energy and global oil at Rice University’s Baker Institute. He has over 35 years of experience working at the intersections of energy, economics and public policy.
Before joining the Baker Institute, he was the senior U.S. economist at BP. For 12 years, he led the production of the BP Statistical Review of World Energy, the world’s longest-running compilation of objective global energy data. He also was responsible for the company’s long- and short-term oil market analysis, and he led the global oil market and transportation sector analyses for the long-term BP Energy Outlook.
Prior to joining BP, he was an analyst and manager at the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. He was responsible for assessing the implications for U.S. strategic interests of developments in global oil and other energy markets,
Finley is a senior fellow of the U.S. Association for Energy Economics. He has held leadership roles in the International Association for Energy Economics, the National Association for Business Economics, and the Conference of Business Economics, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Michigan and holds graduate degrees from Northwestern University (in economics) and the George Washington University (in finance).

He runs the Teak Capital fund, is a partner in the Horizon Equity Partners fund, vice-chairman of Sonae Indústria, and sits on the board of the Serralves Foundation. He recently stepped down as chairman of the BA Glass group after 22 years running the company.
He has accumulated decades of experience in company management, running dozens of companies in a wide variety of areas - here we name just a few. He was chairman of the Board of Directors of Sonae Retalho Especializado, TVI - Televisão Independente and the Spanish company La Seda de Barcelona. He managed the EDP - Energias de Portugal group and was a member of the board of COTEC Portugal.
He taught at the University of Porto between 1975 and 1987. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Porto, a master's degree and a doctorate in Management from the University of Warwick, UK.

Anil Gupta received his doctorate from the Harvard Business School, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, and a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology.
